Las Misiones is the sole non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to raising funds for the preservation, maintenance, and restoration of the church buildings within the San Antonio Missions. These active churches do not receive federal or local government funding for their upkeep. While the federal government supports the maintenance of the park buildings and grounds, the churches themselves fall under the stewardship of Las Misiones. In collaboration with the National Park Service, which operates the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park and manages the secular elements of the missions, Las Misiones ensures that the churches receive the maintenance and specialized care they require.
